If your plan includes a domain and you choose one, here’s exactly what happens: we register it with our registrar, Porkbun, in EasyPage’s name. That’s a limitation of how domain registration works technically, not a claim on it — the domain is yours, and we treat it that way.
Getting it, or getting out
You can, at no cost to you, at any time:
- have it pushed into your own Porkbun account
- have it transferred to a different registrar entirely — we'll give you the authorisation code it needs, usually within one working day
- keep it with us and just point it somewhere else, by changing where it resolves
Renewal
It renews automatically while you’re on a plan that includes a domain. If you cancel or move to a plan without one, renewal stops — the domain will expire unless you’ve moved it into your own account first. We’ll try to warn you before that happens.
The public register
.nz domains (including .co.nz) are entered on a public register. Registering as an individual keeps most personal details off it; registering as a company puts the company’s details on it. We ask which you are before we register anything.
Getting the name right
We show you the exact name and ask you to confirm it before we register it. Once it’s registered, a typo is a different name, not a mistake we can quietly fix — check it carefully before you confirm.
Email on that domain
Your plan covers the website, not email. We’re happy to set up the DNS side either way: free forwarding, so mail to your new address lands in the inbox you already use, or the records for a mailbox you buy from Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Zoho or similar. We don’t sell mailboxes and we don’t run your email — that account is between you and whoever you buy it from.
One thing to know before you set email up on a domain we hold: if you leave us, the domain moves to you, and email stops working during that move unless it’s planned. That’s a few days’ notice and a bit of coordination, not a problem — but it is your business’s email, so tell us before you transfer rather than after.
